Finally a boat that is beautiful, fast, and has the ability to explore, and be kept in shallow water areas. The J95 is the most versatile JBoat ever! The J95 can be pulled from your inland lake to the coast, and launched using a boat launch ramp and kept in shallow water slips. Sail away and explore those thin water areas you always wanted to get to. Pull up on the beach. Tired of exploring and want to get the competitive juices flowing? Get out to the race course and win. Early race results show that the J95 is a great performing boat. The J95’s versatility makes it a perfect choice for the lakes and bays in the southwest.
The new J95 is a twin rudder centerboard boat that is fast, comfortable, and versatile. Many lakefront homeowners have been looking for a boat they can keep at their dock or shallow water marina. The J95 allows access to these waters in a great looking package that is perfect for a day sail, the occasional overnight expedition into waters previously inaccessible to sailboats, and fast enough to compete on the race course. The J95 has a responsive helm, large comfortable cockpit, and is a lot of fun to sail.
Shoal draft centerboard boats were the original speedsters winning races a half century ago. Racing boats evolved into deep fin, high aspect keels and rudders over the last 25 years. Offshore racers began to employ twin rudders, as the boats were too beamy for a single rudder. This design evolution, and modern materials provide the basis for the new and much needed centerboard J95. The center of gravity is low, providing stability with the board up or down, and the small twin rudders provide complete control, all in a package that will draw 3.0 feet of water.
Put it all together into a great looking package that offers race boat performance and shallow draft capabilities and you have a versatile boat that can picnic sail in shallow waters one day and win a race the next. This design has been a long time coming and the initial response from cruisers and racers has been fantastic.
The J95 has the same size cockpit as the J122 and with an open transom, wheel steering, is very roomy and comfortable for a large group of family and friends. The cabin has a v berth and head forward, twin settee's and space for a cooler. This versatile design keeps boating simple, yet provides adequate space for the occasional overnighter and comfortable day sailing.
