JFest Regatta

J/Fest Regatta's have been a highly successful event going back to their origination 25 years ago. And now, for the first time, it's coming to the Houston Area!

JFest Regatta

The events are geared towards family and friends sailing in a competitive and FUN event. The last several years have been tough on the sailing ecosystem but now J/Sailors are ready to get back out and play again. Several key Houston sailors and J/Boat owners, along with the Lakewood Yacht Club team, have put together plans for a really nice event to be held on October 16 & 17, 2010 at Lakewood Yacht Club in Seabrook, Texas (Houston).

The more participants and sponsors, the better the event will be - and the more fun we will all have!

I hope that you will consider participating as a sponsor. The earlier you sign up as a sponsor the more publicity we can provide you through media press releases, web site presence, and e-mailers to regional, national, and global mailing lists. In addition, if you can attend this event we would love to host you in any way that you would like - such as: crewing on a race boat, cruiser boat, attending dinner, etc.

Sponsorship dollars, goods, and services can be donated to this event via a charitable organization for your tax deductible benefit. Formal sponsorship levels begin at $2,000.00 and go up (Silver, Gold, Platinum). However at this late date in the year we are open to any sponsorship ideas and offers that you may have!

JFest Regatta

There are several ways to be a sponsor:

1.) Money! This is our primary need to pay for Race Committee boat fuel, food, trophies, dinner, etc.

2.) Goods! We want all of our sailors to go home with something. Goods can be many small items for skipper bags, etc. Smaller quantities of higher dollar value items can be raffled off, or offered as prizes based on finishing order, farthest traveled, youngest crew, etc. Very high dollar items such as trips, instrument systems, etc., can be part of a drawing or raffle. We will do our best to match your donated goods to an award in a way that will maximize the publicity for your company. We expect to have 45 plus boats and 250 plus participants.

3.) Services! These can range from Health Spa vacations to free boat hull preparation, engine tune-up, sail refurbishing, etc. Keep in mind that we do plan to have sailors attend from all over the southwest. Ideally your service will be such that anyone that wins it will have access to it.

4.) Photography Sponsor! We would like to have Cindy Cady shoot the event.http://racebook-us.smugmug.com/ The cost is $1,000.00 Those of you that might need good race boat shots for your catalogs could sponsor Cindy and have access to all of her photo's from the event.

5.) You may have an idea or sponsorship program that we have not thought of. Please do let us know what works for you. Our goal is to make this a fun-filled regatta with nice gifts for the attendee's and to provide our sponsors with a loyal customer base that will remember your company and buy your goods and services after the regatta.

How to Take Action:

- Contact me via e-mail at scott@jboatssouthwest.com, or
- Phone (512)423-2179 and let me know how you would like to help.

I will send you the appropriate forms to get started and for you to get your tax credit and publicity.

Let's increase the momentum that's starting to gather in our industry and support Regatta's! Sailors support those that support them and I want us all to have a great fall and start 2011 on a strong note!
